Eulalia  P. "Lala" Sanchez, 95, of Slaton, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024.

Viewing will be 11:00 am- 6:00 pm Monday, April 1, 2024, at Englunds, followed by a Rosary Service, at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Lala was born on February 12, 1929, in Kyle to Severo and Agapita Perez. She married Jose Sanchez in 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lubbock. He passed in 1955 and she never remarried. She worked as a housekeeper for about 5 years before going to work at the cafeteria for Cooper I. S. D. for another six years. She then worked as a seamstress at Malouf’s, J. C. Penney, and Dillard’s.  She continued to sew while she worked at Tech in the Bakery and retired after 15 years. Not one to sit still, she was a nanny for four years.  As an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe, she was a Sunday School teacher, a Guadalupana, a Cursillista, and part of a prayer group, as well as a Lector and Communion Minister.

Lala was a loving, witty person who loved to sew and travel, especially to Mexico.  She also enjoyed her time in San Francisco and Colorado.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Pete and Jesus Perez; her grandson, Fabian Sanchez; her niece, Annette Diaz; her brother-in-law, Lolo Diaz; and two special friends, Margarita and Don Santos.

Lala is survived by her daughters, Mary Socorro and her husband, Albert Alfaro, and Josie Castro and her husband, Daniel, all of Lubbock; her son, Carlos Sanchez of Slaton; her sisters, Maria Perez of Slaton, and Margaret Diaz of Woodrow; her brother, Dennis Perez of Slaton; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one on the way; and her fur baby, Coco.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Traditions Health Hospice, as well as to Emma and Mary (Liz), for the special care given to Lala.
